Rules Section Three
Category A Rules - Contest Organisers

The following are standards to which a contest must adhere to receive full Registration as a TYMBA Contest

  1. There shall be ONE Judge per aspect (taken from the TYMBA approved Judges list).

  2. The General Musical Effect, Wind, Percussion, Display, Drill and Drum Major Judges will use tape recorders.

  3. Either a central line marked along the arena or the positioning of a flag at that point will indicate the centre line of the arena (front to rear).

  4. A minimum of TWO Timekeepers will be used.

  5. Score sheets must be the TYMBA approved sheets, current at the time of the contest and must show the name of the Judge clearly.

  6. Summary sheets for the Judges must be issued showing all the bands and sub-categories within each aspect as per the score sheet.

  7. Result sheets must be the TYMBA approved sheets current at the time of the contest.

  8. Each contest will have a Contest Observer, who will be appointed by the Contest Organisers Committee or other such body, who will oversee the collation of this information and monitor contests within the Association to ensure these rules are being adhered to.

    1. Any complaint against a Contest shall be made to the Contest Observer who will take whatever action deemed necessary, and submit a report to the Head of Contesting. The Contest Organiser shall be advised on the day.

  9. On a First breach of the rules the contest will receive an official written warning, this will be issued by the Head of Contesting and sent Recorded Delivery to the last known address of the Contest Organiser, and a copy lodged with the Association Secretary. This warning will remain in force for a period of THREE years, after which time it will be erased from the records, assuming there are no further breaches during this period.
    A minimum of 2/3 of the Main Committee MUST be present at any meeting that decides to issue an official warning, and the motion must receive the support of 2/3 of the voting members present.

  10. An Appeals Committee, nominated by the Association Chairman (provided that he or she is not directly involved in the original motion), shall hear any appeal.
    The committee shall consist of ONE member of the Main Committee (also not involved in the original motion) and also TWO Class A Members (also not involved in the original motion). The appellant and the person who proposed the original motion are also entitled to attend. The appellant shall be served with copies of the full complaint against them no less than 14 days prior to the hearing; also at this point copies of any previous warning(s) shall be served on the appellant. All official warnings will be valid for a period of THREE years.
    At the hearing, all of the evidence will be heard and then a vote taken, the appellant and the proposer of the motion are NOT entitled to vote

The Appeal Committees' decision will be final

These Rules are to be classed as Category A Rules

Should any Contest breach these rules, then that contest MAY have its' registration removed.
