League Rules
Bands in the Novice class must compete in at least TWO contests to qualify for placings in the league. Bands in the Contest, Championship and National Classes must compete in at least THREE Contests to qualify for placings in the league.
Placings are decided by adding the given placings at the contests entered, and placing the lower number higher in the league. The bands that have competed in the higher number of contests are placed higher until the qualifying number of contests is reached then the scores will decide the placings.
Where bands compete in more than the required number of contests (TWO in the case of Novice Class Bands or THREE in all other cases), highest placings will be used in the calculations.
Where bands tie using the above formula, the band that has competed in the higher number of contests will be placed higher.
Relegation should be pro-rata to promotion, subject to current membership trends. All the movements to be notified to the Bandmasters no later than the last day of December.
The Drum Major League is calculated by adding placings given across all classes at Contests. The lower number being placed higher.
